Québec Autoroutes

de l'Acier Autoroute (A-30)

 «This freeway has been built in distinct parts. A first part by-passes Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Another by-passes Kahnawake I.R. A third one links Saint-Constant (from the junction with A-15) up to Sorel. Finally, a fouth section runs from Autoroute 55 (just south of Laviolette Bridge) up to Bécancour (Gentilly area). -- Autoroute 30 will eventually be completed from Valleyfield up to Saint-Constant. Moreover, A-30 will be connected to A-540 and this one will be extended southward, a bridge will be built to warrant the connection with A-540 roadway. This will equip Montreal with a complete South Shore By-pass. (From Montreal Transportation Plan 2000) -- (Comment by Christian Perry) A-30 construction has been anounced both by federal and provincial governments but it has not begun since the debate on autoroute 30 routing is not finished (Note from Webfil : In 2004, the A-30 plans revealed it will run south of Sainte-Catherine).
